I have purchased this light before. This one stays on for 5 minutes then automatically shuts off. The previous one did the same but you had the option to manually shut it off if you wanted.

Install was easy enough. The seal is just the right thickness and shape to work well, considering it is a truck tail gate. An added bonus was the fact that it cushions the closing when done side swing mode (I have a Ridgeline so I can drop it or open like a swing door).
