Took a little longer to install because I did it by myself, and because I did it very carefully to avoid scratching my new truck. It's pretty straight-forward, but I wound up loosening and adjusting them a couple of times until they looked just right, which for me was up high enough where you couldn't see light between the rocker panel and the rear lip of the running boards. The brackets that bolt onto the rocker panels are pretty sturdy steel. The 2023 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab has M8 studs already installed coming out of the backside of the rocker panels, and it's easy to hang the brackets onto them using the M8 nuts, lockwashers, and washers they give you (three brackets on each side, and three M8 studs for each bracket). The actual running boards are probably only 16 gauge steel tubing, and the tread plate on it looks like 16 gauge steel. They hold my weight fine without flexing though. They make it way easier to climb in and out of the truck, especially for my wife, so she's happy. I like how they stick out just a little past the tires, so they should block stuff flying up from my tires. And I like how they might keep car doors in parking lots from crashing into my doors to keep from getting door dings. The textured black powder-coating finish looks really nice, and matches the look of the other black trim pieces on my truck well. The treads give you a good grip. The way they mount is nice because you don't lose any extra ground clearance, other than the thickness of the running boards. Nothing hangs below what you can see of the running boards. I can still crawl under the truck on my back with them on, but just barely. I could install the brackets without jacking up the truck at all, but it made it easier to drive up on some 2x6s during installation the running boards to them to get another 1.5" of clearance while I was under it. Since I was doing it myself, I used a car jack with a wide piece of wood on it, positioned under the center of the running board to lift it up close to where it should be, then climbed under and got all the bolts started (six 3/8" bolts on each side). I'm pretty happy with them, and they look pretty nice.
