I tried a low-cost clamp plate that didn't help much (maybe didn't help at all). I placed this onto my BlueOx Sway-Pro hitch and it removed all 'play' in every direction - vertical (Y-axis), horizontal (X-axis) and in-line with the tow vehicle (Z-axis). I have not towed with this (yet) - but this pull-bar system appears to be the best available, and it is very simple.

I purchased another brand from another company and it would not fit, although there is a standard that manufacturer's go by. I was told to send it back, which I did, but their customer service was no help about getting a replacement. I bought the Blue Ox thru NAPA and it worked great.
